Adriane Herrick Juarez

I am an artist, a lifelong lover of books, and a career librarian who believes that books can tell more than one story.

My art gives discarded and unwanted books a second life—transforming pages, covers, and bindings that might otherwise enter the waste stream into one-of-a-kind works of art. I am drawn to the physical beauty of the book: the texture of its pages, the typography, the binding, and the quiet history held within its form.

Through my work, I celebrate the book not only as a vessel for words and ideas, but as an art form in itself. Each piece offers Another Story: a new way of seeing, experiencing, and appreciating something that might otherwise have been thrown away.

For me, creating with books is an act of preservation, reinvention, and joy—honoring where each book has been while imagining where it can go next.
